New York City is known for f o o d .

Shake Shack is a staple of the city and was honestly one of the highlights of my weekend. I wish I could order it and a juicy burger and perfectly fried fries would show up in front of me right now. Someone should get on that invention. K great.

I am going to Florence, Italy for the month of May!

I am beyond excited and slightly nervous. I will be studying in Italy for 4 or 5 weeks at the Florence University of the Arts. It still doesn’t feel real. The thought of roaming the streets of Italy makes me extra giddy. I already have a list of things I want to do and places to see and I cannot wait to start crossing them off. I have been wanting to travel to Italy for quite some time now but the timing has never been right. God’s timing is perfect though and I am so thankful that he has provided this opportunity. I do not know a single person going which can be scary if I think about it for too long but recently I realized that it will allow me to fully rely on Jesus even more than I am right now. Sometimes I get swept up in the craziness of life and I don’t put every aspect of my life in His hands. Traveling alone to a different country is one way to remember that I need Him every single day. Without Him I am lost. I am excited for new scenery and experiences that will hopefully allow me to see even more of His grace and love in every single moment. My biggest prayer for this trip is that I would not only grow closer to my loving God but that I would also be a light to the people around me – those on my trip and the people of this beautiful city. It is going to be a challenge but He takes every step with me.

“Therefore, I urge you, brother and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12 : 1 – 2
